Daniel Hong is a Referral Coordinator at Ethnē Health. He came from California to Atlanta to attend Emory University where he received a B.A. in Physics.
He first heard about Ethnē through a GBM with a medical missions team he was part of in college.
Prior to Ethnē, Daniel was an Americorp service member with Catholic Charities supporting the Clarkston community as a Refugee Mentor Support Specialist, working with refugee youths to help transition their social integration into America. He became interested in joining the clinic after learning that Ethnē served many of their clients. During his time at Catholic Charities, he cherished the opportunity to serve clients, as he learned more about their diverse cultures and built genuine relationships with them.
In the summer of 2022, Daniel started as an intern at Ethnē Health and loved his time so much that he became a full-time staff member when the internship ended. Joining Ethnē and becoming more involved in volunteering in Clarkston, he realized how crucial building these relationships was for their mental and physical well-being, even beyond medical treatment. These experiences have instilled a deep care for this diverse community, and he hopes to utilize lessons learned at Ethnē when he returns as a provider. His best days at Ethnē include getting at least 10 specialty appointments scheduled, along with scribing for the providers and learning the ropes of how they interact with patients and overcome language barriers.
Outside of work, he likes playing tennis and basketball and loves tutoring students, particularly in physics and math.
