Occupational Therapy

Christine Cavanaugh is an Occupational Therapist at Ethnē Health. She received her B.S. in Exercise Physiology from University of Massachusetts and her M.A. in Occupational Therapy from New York University. She is originally from Cape Cod, Massachusetts but has lived most of her adult life in Atlanta. She and her husband moved to Atlanta shortly after they married to pursue work opportunities and never looked back. The majority of her career has been spent working with children, both in public schools and at the Atlanta Speech School, and she has experience in both inpatient and outpatient rehab. She also has a special interest in low vision and currently works part-time at the Center for the Visually Impaired in Atlanta. 
 

From the moment Christine started working in Clarkston, she knew it was a very special place. There is such a need for quality healthcare services here and she considers it an honor to be a part of that at Ethnē. Clarkston is a unique place and requires healthcare delivery to be as unique as the population it serves. She welcomes the challenges and rewards that come from working with the people of Clarkston. After becoming "semi-retired," she felt called to utilize her skills as an OT in an underserved area and asked God for some guidance, and he led her straight to Ethnē. She has been working with patients at the clinic since 2017. Her best days at Ethnē include seeing people feel heard and empowered when they leave, educating patients, and watching patients embrace and actively work toward their goals.

Outside of Ethnē, she loves to travel (especially to see her kids), cook (and eat!), read, and walk her dog. She also considers herself a “beginner chocheter.”
