Mizzy Shiferaw is EthnÄ Health’s Billing Specialist. She is OSHA & HIPPA Certified and has a degree in Medical Insurance Billing and Coding from Everest Institute.
She is originally from Ethiopia and came to Atlanta for education in 2001 when she was 13 years old.
As a young girl she wanted to be a doctor and help the people who lived in her village, who were not able to receive care. She has lived in the Stone Mountain area for most of her life and went to Clarkston High School; she has seen a lot of growth in the community and in the city over the past 10 years. Although there have been good changes, there are still people struggling, who are not fortunate enough to afford health care or housing. For Mizzy, to be a part of a community through EthnÄ and to be able to help and serve the wonderful people in the Clarkston community is a dream come true.
She has been working at EthnÄ for over two years, and it was Dr. Esther Kim that led her to this amazing clinic. When Dr. Esther remembered their conversation and reached out to her after a year, it felt like God was using her to change Mizzy’s life. Realizing that Dr. Esther Kim trusted her enough to bring her to EthnÄ to help in any way possible was the most rewarding moment of her life. Her good days at EthnÄ are every day. It makes her smile to hear hopeful stories about patients during staff meetings when everyone is together, sharing hope and healing with the group.
Outside of work, she has a passion for art and painting and loves spending time with her beautiful kids at the park. They also play lots of UNO and watch movies.
